The Sunday scaries are feelings of intense anxiety and dread that routinely occur every Sunday. They often start in the late afternoon and continue into the evening. However, depending on a person’s level of anxiety, these feelings can start as soon as they get out of bed.
I used to have even Sunday Scaries more frequently, but I have found ways to combat them and help with the feeling of anxiety.
Here are some ways that help me:
Breathing
Walking in nature
Feeling prepared enough for the week
Doing something joyful
Reminding myself that I will be okay
Meditation
Journaling
If you suffer from Sunday Scaries, know you are not alone. Think of what helps to ease that feeling and do that for yourself.
Hello fellow teachers and friends! I began teaching in 2001. It is amazing to think that! I can't believe that I have taught so many grade levels and facilitated learning for teachers for so many years! My teaching began in South Carolina, then Virginia and the now in Georgia. My 21 years in teaching and education have taught me a lot about relationship building, authentic teaching and learning, life long learning and the importance of caring for self. I truly feel that those years upped my level of teaching in ways that I never could have imagined! My love is literacy and infusing diverse books in all we do. I am back in the classroom and I am also an Instructional Coach! I was an Instructional Coach in schools for 5 years and 2 years+ now as a consultant. I’ve written two books too! (If you would love to support there is a link in my blog) This blog is my journey. Hopefully you will stick with me!
