I’ve been thinking a lot about the lineage of motherhood in my family. How one beautiful, strong matriarch can pave the way for the others—to teach them how to be a mother.
How the little girls, young ladies and grown women experience and watch to learn the ways of motherhood through this lineage.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my grandmother, MaMà and how her life & strength taught my mother to be a loving, wonderful and caring mother. I’ve been thinking about my aunts who also helped pave the way for my mother in her motherhood journey.
I’ve been thinking about how I have grown into my own journey of motherhood through this lineage. It’s through the lineage that I’ve experienced, learned, grown, loved and sought how to be a mother. Through MaMà, my Mother, my aunts, my sisters—I’ve learned.
The lineage of motherhood in my family is strong. To neglect the power of this lineage is to neglect the strength of family. This Lineage of Motherhood is circle that encamps us. Even though physical bodies may be resting and some of our mothers are now in the spiritual realm—knowing that the lineage and enchanting spirit of motherhood transcends is beautiful enough for me.
