This MLK Day.
The day that we honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. we not forget all that he fought for. We must not forget all that he endured. We must not forget the truth of his story. We must continue to learn, teach it to our kids, and teach it to our students.
That he—Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. fought for the human rights for Black folks, victims of injustice and impoverished people. That he was a father and husband to Coretta Scott King all while doing this great work in community with others.
He prayed.
He locked arms.
He held hands.
He marched.
He preached.
He spoke.
His legacy lives through us.
We must continue this work.

Hello fellow teachers and friends! I began teaching in 2001. It is amazing to think that! I can't believe that I have taught so many grade levels and facilitated learning for teachers for so many years! My teaching began in South Carolina, then Virginia and the now in Georgia. My 21 years in teaching and education have taught me a lot about relationship building, authentic teaching and learning, life long learning and the importance of caring for self. I truly feel that those years upped my level of teaching in ways that I never could have imagined! My love is literacy and infusing diverse books in all we do. I am back in the classroom and I am also an Instructional Coach! I was an Instructional Coach in schools for 5 years and 2 years+ now as a consultant. I’ve written two books too! (If you would love to support there is a link in my blog) This blog is my journey. Hopefully you will stick with me!
