After 18 years in the game…I got some tips for the day after Halloween 🎃
I promise if you read the room and monitor and adjust as needed, it will be a great day.
Take time to discuss in a morning meeting the fact that some (not all) of your students may have had a long night. Discuss the fact that some (not all) of your friends might have some candy in their book bags, pockets, hands, behind their ears, in their mouths…😂🤣 and together establish some agreements around this new variable. 🍭 🍬 💤 😴
You can and will have a great day. Set an intention and go forth. 🙌🏽
Hello fellow teachers and friends! I began teaching in 2001. It is amazing to think that! I can't believe that I have taught so many grade levels and facilitated learning for teachers for so many years! My teaching began in South Carolina, then Virginia and the now in Georgia. My 21 years in teaching and education have taught me a lot about relationship building, authentic teaching and learning, life long learning and the importance of caring for self. I truly feel that those years upped my level of teaching in ways that I never could have imagined! My love is literacy and infusing diverse books in all we do. I am back in the classroom and I am also an Instructional Coach! I was an Instructional Coach in schools for 5 years and 2 years+ now as a consultant. I’ve written two books too! (If you would love to support there is a link in my blog) This blog is my journey. Hopefully you will stick with me!
