Today we begin to celebrate Latinx/Hispanic Heritage month. I am sharing a few wonderful books written and illustrated by writers and illustrators of the Latinx community. I also want to note that this is not an exhaustive list of the amazing writers in illustrators from this community. There are so many more amazing books! I have created an @epic4educators collection with videos and books in my link tree link above. I also want to note that we don’t limit ourselves to one month in our learning, loving, and growing. The work is a continuous journey! 🥰

Hello fellow teachers and friends! I began teaching in 2001. It is amazing to think that! I can't believe that I have taught so many grade levels and facilitated learning for teachers for so many years! My teaching began in South Carolina, then Virginia and the now in Georgia. My 21 years in teaching and education have taught me a lot about relationship building, authentic teaching and learning, life long learning and the importance of caring for self. I truly feel that those years upped my level of teaching in ways that I never could have imagined! My love is literacy and infusing diverse books in all we do. I am back in the classroom and I am also an Instructional Coach! I was an Instructional Coach in schools for 5 years and 2 years+ now as a consultant. I’ve written two books too! (If you would love to support there is a link in my blog) This blog is my journey. Hopefully you will stick with me!
